As someone who went to college on a full tuition scholarship, I understand the importance of strong SAT scores, AP classes, and preparing for college in high school. (And then doing well in college once you get there!) I graduated magna cum laude with departmental honors in both my majors and spoke at my departmental graduation. During my undergraduate career, I served as a teaching assistant under two different professors where I taught coursework to my peers. I have continued to pursue my passion for teaching at my current job as an instructor for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
I received a perfect score on SAT Reading and a very high score overall. In high school, I effectively studied for and received 4's and 5's in AP Biology, AP Calculus, AP European History, AP U.S. History, both AP English Exams, AP Art History, and AP Studio Art: Drawing. I can teach very effective study skills, especially for these exams, and I would love to help students to improve their future prospects. I have taken math through AP Calculus, and would be happy to tutor students in algebra as well as the special beast that is SAT Math.
I also have a foundation in Latin and believe that understanding the nitty gritty of English grammar and vocabulary is key to success on many of these exams. I majored in English Writing and am more than qualified to tutor students in writing and grammar, whether it is to learn English as a second language, for a class, exam, or admissions essay. Finally, I love History and make it fun!
Additionally, I have experience working with people with special needs, including but not limited to working with people with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Asperger's Syndrome, as well as learning disabilities. You should consider me to be someone who is very patient, flexible, kind, and accommodating.
I cannot wait to meet you!
