I began tutoring math my freshman year of high school. I was on the "fast track" in terms of my education, and I began algebra in middle school, so by the time I got to my freshman year of high school, I was taking AP Calculus AB. I tutored for an online high school site, FLVS, all throughout high school. I enjoy tutoring middle school math, prealgebra, and algebra I because these are the initial subjects in math and the foundation for any student's math career.
I am more interested in making sure the student feels comfortable and understands the material, rather than drilling numbers or rules into his or her head. The best reward for me is seeing a student understand and grasp the math topic! All of my math teachers instilled in me a love for math and I hope that I can instill that same love for math in my students!
I also tutor Arabic. I began studying Arabic when I was 9 years old. I had many Arab-native tutors that taught me how to read, write, and speak in Arabic. I studied in Amman, Jordan at Qasid Institute for two years where I furthered my Arabic studies. I studied in-depth Arabic grammar for many years. I continue to study Arabic in college, where I am an Arabic major.
