Hello,

I offer one-on-one and group tutoring in statistics, biology, and MATLAB coding.

I'm a graduate of the UC Berkeley psychology program and a current graduate student in neuroscience at UC Davis. When I was an undergraduate, I worked at the Student Learning Center as a tutor and study group leader in statistics, research design and data analysis and I've been a contractor for multiple tutoring agencies around the Bay Area. I've also worked as TA to undergraduates at UC Davis. I have tutored dozens of students, each of whom made a huge amount of progress through our work together.

If you're finding yourself lost, confused or otherwise challenged by your course material, I can help you out. Or, if you're working on a thesis project and you'd like a hand navigating the world of data analysis, I can help with that too.

If you're interested in getting a helping hand, let me know. My time and rates are flexible

Thanks for your interest!

Biostatistics

As a graduate student in neuroscience, the primary focus of my dissertation is examining how neurons encode the physical world to give rise to sensations and perceptions. As such, I rely heavily on biostatistics, from basic probability principles all the way up to Bayesian techniques and information theory. I've tutored statistics for many years, both as an employee at UC Berkeley and as an independent contractor. I'd love to help you with any biostatistics questions you have!

MATLAB

MATLAB is a computer programming language common in the sciences. I first learned MATLAB during an undergraduate research internship in the neuroscience department at UC Berkeley. For that project, I programmed software to use in the creation of operant conditioning experiments with songbirds. I have since used MATLAB to create myriad custom data analysis and visualization programs for my work as a neuroscience graduate student. I have 3 years of experience using MATLAB and have tutored multiple students in its use.

Excellent Biostatistics Tutor! I can't say enough good things about Josh! I have been meeting with him once a week since March and have been very pleased with my progress. My confidence about my ability to do statistics had been very low, but that is changing, especially since I recently got an A in a course that I thought would be too hard for me. I attribute my success to Josh's perceptive style of teaching. He is easygoing, ...
