Hi! I taught for four years as an English and special education teacher at a high school in Brooklyn, New York. I have my master's degree in teaching. Currently, I am working on my doctoral degree in clinical psychology. My field placement is at an elementary school in East Oakland.
As an educator, I believe in attending to each individual's needs, and building on the strengths that each learner already has. Additionally, with my background in teaching special education, I believe that teaching students concrete skills for mastering content is essential to their success. I have helped many of my students pass New York State English exams, improve as readers and writers, and develop their confidence.
