CBEST
I can help you prepare for the CBEST quickly and efficiently, by identifying your weaknesses and then reinforcing your understanding and language usage. I am available both or face-to-face tutoring, as well as for on-line (Skype, GoogleChat, etc.) sessions.
English
I will teach you to communicate effectively in English, and give you the tools to continue to learn English throughout your life. I specialize in pronunciation, and pronunciation correction.

I taught ESL at the Berkeley Adult School, as part of my work/study as an Undergraduate student at UC Berkeley.

I worked for Stanford University for 15 years, and we only used Macs. I own a MacBook Pro.
Microsoft Excel
I will help you overcome the fear of a blank spreadsheet on the screen in MS Excel, and you will gain the tools to learn the features of MS Excel which are useful to you.
Microsoft Word
I will help you overcome the fear of a blank page on the screen in MS Word, and you will gain the tools to learn the features of MS Word which are useful to you.
Sewing
I learned to sew at the Hove County Grammar School for Girls in southern England, as a teenager. Since, I have made clothes for children and adults, and now I sew custom rod sleeves for fly fishing rods and rod pouches for fishing reels, as part of our small fly fishing rod making business. I have made clothes and simple costumes using commercial patterns, and I have also designed my own. I have a Singer Tradition sewing machine. I do not have experience with automated embroidery machines or overlock sewing machines.
Spanish
I will teach you to communicate effectively in Spanish, and give you the tools to continue to learn Spanish throughout your life. I specialize in pronunciation, and can work with you in both Latin American Spanish and Iberian Spanish (for Spain).
TOEFL
To prepare you for the TOEFL, we will work on grammar, reading comprehensions skills, vocabulary, and test-taking skills. My tutoring will be tailored to your specific needs, addressing your particular weaknesses, and taking advantage of your individual strengths.
