***Providing Focus, Attention, and Results!***
My specialty is SAT I tutoring, and I have over three years of experience teaching the skills necessary to get dramatically higher scores. Additionally, I tutor a wide range of K-12 academic subjects and computer skills.
I am committed to providing the best customized assistance to students who are not getting everything that they need inside the classroom. I prefer a one-on-one approach, so that I can adapt my teaching style to specific student needs. My philosophy in tutoring math and science is to emphasize specific strategies that simplify complex problems. For English and literature subjects, I work with students on developing a logical essay structure format, vocabulary, and analytical skills. My intent is to teach skills that last a lifetime!
NOTE: I am currently only able to tutor students who can meet me at UC Berkeley campus or nearby.
***About Me***
I graduated magna cum laude from Columbia University with a degree in Environmental Engineering. Currently, I am tutoring part-time while I am studying civil engineering at UC Berkeley (PhD program). I enjoy getting to know my students and strive to make my sessions both fun and challenging. I have the knowledge and capability to teach winning strategies for the SAT and to tutor K-12 students at any level; however, my ability to get students to engage with the material helps them achieve the success that they dream of. I have worked with students of diverse backgrounds and learning abilities, with specific experience helping students with ADD/ADHD. I am patient, easy to work with, professional, and fully invested in helping my students succeed.
***Qualifications***
I received professional SAT I Verbal, Math, and Writing training while working with Eureka Review, a renowned Los Angeles-based SAT tutoring company. I tutored students one-on-one in their homes while engaging in a strategy-specific review of SAT Math and Verbal skills. Students (and parents) were consistently pleased with their level of improvement on tests. Additionally, I worked several years as a sought-after private tutor in my hometown assisting K-12 students with homework and learning skills in all subjects. I maintained contact with parents to provide progress updates and recommendations for additional study.
