I was trained in Adobe InDesign during my architectural coursework in pursuit of my Bachelor of Science in Architecture. I have used the program extensively to make presentations, portfolios, and graphic design materials. I have also worked as a marketing and design intern, utilizing InDesign as one of my primarily tools to create posters, flyers, digital advertisements, and business cards.
I have a B.S. in Architecture from the University of Maryland School of Architecture, and as a graduate of this design-based program, I have taken many courses that have both taught and required the utilization of Adobe Photoshop and its Creative Suite affiliates. I have produced countless drawings, diagrams, and architectural renderings by way of Photoshop that have led to a 3.9 (on a 4.0 scale) GPA in my undergraduate work. I have a portfolio of architectural work that showcases my Photoshop abilities available for view if desired.
Further, I have worked as a photographer at both a regional publication and a summer camp, and in these roles, have utilized Photoshop to alter and edit my digital work. Further still, I interned in the Design and Production Department of the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC, where I used Photoshop in assisting the Head Lighting Designer with renderings and other visual production. I do freelance work in graphic design and portfolio making, and a sample of my photographic and visual work can be viewed online by request.
I have worked as a photographer for a summer camp since 2010, taking between 300 and 1000 photographs every day and editing and uploading all photos to a master website. This work required a combination of sport, event, and portrait photography. I have also done personal work in architectural and landscape photography. I have experience working with digital SLR, polaroid, and film (35 mm and 120 mm) cameras.
I am a former Kaplan tutor for the SAT, including the SAT writing section, and I have assisted students and peers in organizing, revising, and proofreading their papers throughout my high school and collegiate careers. I have a B.A. in Philosophy and received a 4.0 in my studies, which involved writing several different types of papers. I have also written for a DC-area magazine and was the web-journalist for a Texas summer camp. Currently, I help young professionals edit their resumes and cover letters, and I am assisting a non-profit start-up in the writing and editing of its formal documents.
