I am a mathematics teacher with a supplementary teaching certificate in Beginning English. I have taught mathematics in middle school and high school. I tutored at Surfer Math, a service specializing in mathematics, for 2 years. More recently, I have been tutoring all grade levels in language arts and mathematics.

I have a BS in Agricultural Science and Management and in Mathematics(Education). I have also taken all of the classes required to teach ESL.

I have access to a variety of materials. Some are basic practice, while others use games or other fun methods to learn the material. I like to combine these to make a balanced, fun session.

I enjoy working with all age groups and try to show others that learning can be fun!

Algebra 1

Algebra 2

Grammar

I have always enjoyed grammar. I can teach it in the traditional method or via sentence diagramming. I feel that sentence diagramming is a very effective way to learn grammar and learn how to write well-structured sentences.

Geometry

Geometry is an essential skill in many occupations. Knowing geometry will help you see the world better and solve problems that come your way. I look forward to showing you why.

Prealgebra

Algebra is the basis for many other math classes, so prealgebra is extremely important to understand. I have many resources, including games, fun worksheets and more traditional sources.

Precalculus

Precalculus is certainly important to anyone who is considering taking any higher math class or many college classes that are not directly related to math. It covers a wide variety topics. I have taught precalculus in the past.

Reading

Understanding what we read is essential to succeeding in life. Our understanding of what we read can be the difference between making a good or bad choice. Reading can also take us places we may never actually be able to visit, and see worlds that don't exist. Any way you look at it, reading is a skill that one must have to get along in this world.

Writing

Learning to write entails many factors, from proper grammar to writing a well-organized essay. I can guide you through the proper steps to writing success.

English

Learning proper English is important in many ways. You can learn other languages better if you know the proper way to speak your own language. Also, you have a better chance of getting a good job if you speak and write English properly.

Elementary Math

A strong math background is essential to success in the future. Math is used not only in math classes, but also in life and other subjects. Elementary mathematics should be mastered if one wants to be successful in life and in school. I can help your child achieve this.
