I attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute and graduated with a degree in Physics. I love math, science and engineering. I enjoy helping students explore and appreciate these subjects. I have worked for Princeton University, Hewlett Packard, Xerox and Northrop Grumman.
I just retired from a company that makes ion implanters for the semiconductor industry. I used Math, Science and Engineering every day in my work. My job was writing computer programs that control every aspect of these multi-million dollar implanters. For example, I was working on a computer program to calculate the paths of ions in the implanter. The ions pass through magnetic and electrostatic fields which have filtering and focusing effects. The results of this program help us to predict how the implanter will perform in various situations.
I taught a GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) program on Saturday afternoons. Recently I started helping at-risk students with their homework at a local teen center.
