I have been working with children for twenty plus years. I am a para-educator at a local school, I manage an afterschool literacy program, and my wife and I lead a children's ministry together. Kids are God's gift to the world!
I also ran a flooring business for 17 years, so I have a strong economic and business understanding.
I love working with children. Tutoring is not a fill in until I get a real job. I quit my real job (with the help of the economy) so I can do what I really want to do, educating children.
Children learn best when they like what they are doing. If a child has fun while they are working they will want to study.
A mixture of challenging study, engineered to be fun can cause the child to lose focus on the fact that are working.
Most children are hands on learners. Models and activities are a great way to open a child's love of learning and get them moving. Many children simply do not realize how fun it is to learn. When they discover what a great feeling it is learn and accomplish things they become motivated in themselves to do more.
