Hi! I've been teaching high school math for over 20 years, and I teach every type of class, from Algebra 1 to Honors Algebra 2. With two sons in college (USC and Cal), I need to make some extra money in the late afternoons or early evenings. I have tutored students from several Pasadena area high schools, both public and private, and will be happy to provide recommendations.

I graduated from Dartmouth College in 1984, and have interviewed high school seniors for admission to that school. I understand the pressures that students face today, as I'm with teens most of my days. I also understand that there are students who have no interest in highly competitive schools, yet they want a practical education that will serve them well in their future careers. I have successfully taught both types of students, and I hope I will have the chance to help your son or daughter succeed as well.

There is a picture attached that was quickly taken for you to see what I look like. Feel free to ask me any questions.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Study Skills

My educational background includes a BA in math from Dartmouth College and a Master's degree in Educational Technology. More importantly, I have 25 years of teaching and tutoring experience, finding success with students of all levels. Both of my sons (who couldn't be more different from each other) are scholar-athletes and have earned multiple scholarships to USC and Cal Lutheran. I continue to take classes myself to learn how to be an even better teacher!

Great Tutor — She is a great tutor. She really takes the time to make sure you understand it before moving on to a new problem, and she is very encouraging. ...
