I have over 500 hours of experience tutoring math. Why? Because I enjoy doing it and because I am good at it.
What makes me good at tutoring? Knowing math, knowing my students, being good at drawing people out, and being good at adjusting how I teach so that it suits the unique individual I am working with.
To learn, students must feel comfortable, interested, and challenged. When students are too challenged they feel overwhelmed and discouraged. When students are not interested or challenged they get bored. I am expert at finding each person's sweet spot where s/he is comfortable, interested and challenged - where learning feels less like work and more like play.
Learning can be fun, not frustrating!
