If you are looking for an experienced tutor who still has a patient heart, I think we could be a great fit. I have worked in the school district for 7 years in various capacities. This has included being an Instructional Aid for students with special needs in classrooms of varying levels of ability. I have also worked in after school programs where the primary focus was assisting students with their studies before they went home. I have consistently substituted (resident substitute for an elementary school and middle school) in classrooms from Kindergarten to 8th grade over the course of the last four years. I have also been been a long-term substitute teacher in my own classroom for an entire school year. I was also the Youth Pastor at a local church for 7 years as well. The group consisted of approximately 40 high school students and required various planning, teaching and leading responsibilities. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Vanguard University and am one semester away from completion of a Masters degree in Education from Chapman University. I have a CBEST credential, which allows me to substitute teach in the state of California for all grade levels and I have passed the English portion of the CSET, which is necessary to teach Middle School and High School Language Arts. I feel that besides my knowledge of the content areas I have the ability to connect easily with a student and assess how to help him or her succeed. My communication skills and intuition will also be a strong factor in making sure that a student (and parent) is comfortable with the arrangement. I believe I am honest, fair, kind and have a sense of humor, these qualities help me to relate to students of all ages. I am punctual and committed and will not let the student down in any circumstances. Please contact me if you are interested and thank you for taking the time to read this.
