I love to help children and adults learn in any way that I can. I graduated magna cum laude from UC Davis with a major in Microbiology and I had graduated second in my class in high school. I would love to be a teacher but unfortunately, the teaching profession is not as secure as I would like it to be. Instead, I have worked as a trainer in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment where I strived to provide training in the most effective and creative ways possible. In order to be closer to home, I now work as a program manager for a vocational school in Napa.
I am a mother and am accustomed to exhibiting the patience necessary to encourage a child to learn. I know that children, like adults, have learning preferences whether they know it or not. I always try to get through to a student by utilizing the methods that will be the most effective.
My favorite subjects to tutor are the Math and Science subjects. I try to make these subjects less intimidating for students by explaining the material using real-world examples as much as possible. If students can relate the material to something they've actually experienced, then there is a much higher potential for understanding.
