Currently, I teach elementary-aged students with reading and writing difficulties and have decided to extend my services to after-school tutoring through WyzAnt! I have wonderful academic and professional training and I pride myself on being able to best meet my students needs. Although I am firm and have high expectations, I am patient and will always instruct students in an energetic and encouraging manner.
In December of 2008 I received a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Education and a Preliminary Multiple-Subject Teaching Credential. I taught 4th grade for Los Angeles Unified School District during student teaching. After seeing how many general education students struggle with reading and behavior management, I returned to school to obtain a Masters in Special Education with an emphasis in Autism and a Special Education Teaching Credential (mild to moderate). I am scheduled to receive this credential in December 2011 and complete my master's program in June of 2011.
These professional and academic positions have led to my love and appreciation for one-to-one teaching and has provided me with the tools needed to find and implement research-based strategies that best meet the cognitive, emotional, and cultural needs of students and their families. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
