Hi there! My name is Chrissy, and I have been teaching for 11 years now. I have a multiple subject teaching credential with an emphasis in music. I have taught 5th grade, student taught in 2nd and 4th grade and currently teach music in south Orange County. I also have taught 6th grade math at the school I am at for about 4 years. I have been privately tutoring students for about 6 years now and love being able to see students turn those difficult subjects into ones that they enjoy more and are overcoming those challenges they originally faced. I generally tutor students in math from grades K-8. I also have worked with students in a variety of other subjects as well, such as writing, reading, grammar, spelling, history, and science. When I work with students, I evaluate what their specific needs are and then develop a system of tutoring that will be most beneficial for them. I want to see them be able to do a problem or try something on their own before I correct/look at it. I feel this is a great way to get them to be independent and confident workers. I'm always by their side to help if they get stuck, but I do want them to be able to say, "Yes! I did it on my own!" I truly love working with students and helping them to become more excited about learning.
**I also am available for summer review and helping students to keep up their math/reading/writing skills during those summer months away from school! Schedule is flexible. Contact me if you have a K-8th grader who may need help during that time.
