Ms. Christine L. has been a self-starter piano instructor beginning in her undergraduate studies majoring in Music with a focus in Piano Performance at California State University of Los Angeles in the Fall of 2007 and has ever since enjoyed instructing beginning to intermediate students from ages 4 to 20 years of age. She has been on her school's Dean's List for four years, a straight A student, complete with and graduating magna cum laude with a 3.89 GPA with her Bachelor in Music. Residing in the heart of the San Gabriel Valley in Alhambra, CA, she has served the San Gabriel Valley community as a local piano instructor for five years and counting.
Before she began her journey mastering the art of teaching, Ms. Christine L. began developing her strong music fundamentals, taking piano lessons beginning at the age of six years old and has ever since been obsessed with the art of piano playing, music theory, sight reading, ear training and music history. Throughout her elementary and high school years, she had been much involved in MTAC (Music Teachers Association of California) local competitions in the Pasadena Branch, competitively winning and placing firsts and seconds. Still much involved in her music today, she currently offers her skills and content knowledge in piano technique and expression, music theory, sight reading, ear training and music history to youths and adults alike of all ages.
Today, she continues her journey with music by pursuing her graduate studies at California State University of Los Angeles as a credential graduate at Charter College of Education with a focus in Secondary Teaching in Music.
As a piano and general music tutor/instructor, Ms. Christine L. patiently works attentively with younger students and values developing strong music fundamentals at the very beginning,such as rhythms,fingering, note-reading, piano techniques, hand positions,and creating fun, creative musical games to retain the focus of young minds. Aside from piano playing, Ms. Christine L. delights in working and tutoring students in beginning to advanced music theory and musical analysis, and interprets and analyzes music on her spare time.
