Thank you for taking time to read my profile. I have just left teaching, after 8 years in the classroom, to become a stay-at-home mom. I have tutored students from several different countries in grade 1-8, and I have also worked extensively with students who speak English as a Second Language. My specialties are reading, writing, and math for grades 1-6, as well as Writing/Public Speaking for all ages. I have a background in teaching, journalism, classical music studies, and communications.
In California, I was the Chief of Research for Peter Greenberg, who has worked with the NBC Today Show, the Travel Channel, and Discovery Network. I assisted with research and editing for two of his books in the series, The Travel Detective.
Here is a summary of my teaching experiences:
2003-2005 Taught 4th grade at Holy Name of Jesus School in Los Angeles (Coached Debate Team and won First Place in citywide competition)
2005-2006 Taught 4rd grade at Crescendo Charter School in Los Angeles (First year as a school)
2006-2007 Taught 3rd grade at WIlliam Jack Elementary School in Glendale, AZ (Selected as "Rookie Teacher of the Year")
2007 Taught "Assessment of Learning" courses as Adjunct Faculty Member at Northern Arizona University (West Valley campus)

I am passionate about helping students to learn and grow. I will assess the student's needs, then tailor each tutoring session to meet his/her learning goals!
