I have a BA and MA in Psychology and have completed coursework for a PhD in Family Studies and Human Development at the University of Arizona. For the previous 4 years I have been an instructor and teaching associate for undergraduate classes at the U of A. I also have extensive research and data analysis experience and would be very interested in tutoring a student in statistics and SPSS.
As a teaching associate for classes with 100+ students I have extensive experience helping students understand and fulfill the requirements of a class and achieve success in their writing and oral presentations. I employ a student centered teaching method, where the different learning style of each student is taken into consideration and readings and assignments go beyond simple recall and attempt to create a deeper understanding and appreciation of the topic.
I am also a passionate reader, both of popular novels and scientific publications. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, biking and my pets (I have 3 dogs and a cat). I also travel as much as possible and speak a little French and am currently taking a course to learn German!
