I am 33 and married, with 2 awesome children. I graduated from Texas Tech University in 2002 with a dual degree in International Business and Spanish. I spent a semester abroad in Spain at the Universidad de Pablo de Olavide where I took all of my classes in Spanish. Three professors at my university in Spain hired me to tutor them in English for several months. I have also spent 8-10 weeks in Mexico, mainly in Michoacan, doing community service and teaching the community about health awareness.
I have 8 full years of Spanish classes through high school and college and I still peruse some of my old Spanish textbooks to this day. Yes, just for fun. In my professional life, I have spent 9 years in the homebuilding industry where I was able to use my Spanish every day. I have also spent 2 years in sales. I recently completed several courses towards teacher certification although I'm not sure if it's something I will pursue. I enjoy my current career and tutoring on the side. It makes it seem more like a hobby that way! I have a Level 1 fingerprint clearance card.
I think I would have the most impact tutoring those students studying the beginning levels of Spanish or Business in Spanish but will accept all levels. I love chit chatting about verb conjugation and the preterite tense. I love to work on perfect pronunciation and increasing vocabulary. I believe that immersion is the only true way to true fluency, but with repetition, dedication, and practice, one can reach a certain level of fluency that will be a huge benefit in the world we live in today. Please email me or call me with any further questions.
Thank you! Or is it gracias?
