I am confident that I can help prepare candidates to take the bar exam. I have taught courses at the University of Arizona College of Law and in the Pima Community College Legal Assistant Program. I developed these courses and prepared my own syllabi and exams. I have been helping students improve their writing in preparation for successfully passing examinations for many years in a variety of subject areas. Having been employed by the College of Law for many years, I am familiar with legal terminology and legal writing.
I have experience working with college and high school students to improve their business communications skills. I have worked with a number of graduate students enrolled in the University of Arizona's Eller College MBA program to help them improve their presentations by practicing/coaching them on their delivery.
I am responsible for a Drop-In Job Help site at the Public Library in Tucson. At Job Help I assist job seekers with the following:
using the Internet to locate jobs
evaluating suitability of jobs
filing out online applications
responding to email from prospective employers
sending prospective employers electronic resumes

I completed an M.A. from the University of Arizona's Center for the Study of Higher Education. The courses focus on student services. From the array of course specializations I chose College Counseling. Shadowing counselors and attending meetings has given me familiarity with student need and college requirements. Further, I have tutored individuals writing resumes. For these reasons, I believe I am qualified to tutor College Counseling.
I teach basic computer literacy that includes using the Internet and Email programs such as Yahoo.

I have been using a MAC for many years and have taught computer application courses from the basics to more advanced aspects including photo organization and manipulation. I have taught for the local community college Adult Education Division as well as OASIS, a national organization focused on students over 45 years of age.

For many years I have taught individuals how to use Windows in many settings: at a community college, in continuing education classes for adults, and specifically for seniors taking classes through the umbrella organization, Oasis.

My college major was English language, Literature and Composition. My minor was History. I received my master's degree from the University of Arizona College of Education. After I received my master's degree I taught English at a top Chinese university. When I returned to Arizona I began tutoring college students, both undergraduates and graduates, in a variety of subjects. I have been working with students taking a variety of tests and have developed several strategies for taking tests that have proven to be effective, while, at the same time, focusing on the specific parameters of the test being taken, as strategies vary depending on the test in question.
I would be thrilled to help individuals with their public speaking. I have completed the course offered by Toastmasters and have conducted seminars on public speaking. I have tutored International students who wanted to improve their public speaking with great success. I have taught a course in spoken and written English in China.
I have tutored high school and college students, primarily in English, writing and reading comprehension for many years. Many have been preparing to take tests. My approach is to find out what is movitating them to improve their study skills, key to their success as well as to my ability to help. Determining learning styles is also critical to the process.
