I have spent 10 years studying all aspects of the French language and culture. My studies began in high school and continued through college, at the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC) where I studied French and Linguistics. I spent my third year of college living in Bordeaux in Southern France and studying at the University of Bordeaux where I took numerous courses in French literature, phonemics, culture and politics. Upon returning to the U.S. and my studies at UCSC, I took several education courses and participated in a teaching program which allowed me to assist in teaching all levels of high school French. In this program, our focuses were the success of each student and the incorporation of various teaching techniques to satisfy the learning requirements of all students.
After graduating from UCSC with a BA in Language Studies (French), I began working for a class action claims administration as an English/French customer service representative. My duties there included document translation between English and French, telephone conversations with French Canadian claimants in French and response to claimant inquiries in French.
