Though I'm new here, I've been a math and physics tutor for about six years. I really enjoy working with students! I have a varied background, having done everything from construction work to testing rocket motors. I received my BS in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University and a graduate degree in electrical engineering from the University of Utah. In addition to these qualifications, I'm a CRLA level I certified tutor.

Some advice: Choosing a tutor can be a bit hit or miss. Finding someone technically competent is the easy part. It's a little harder to find someone who can also communicate his or her understanding, but probably most experienced tutors will also meet this requirement. Beyond that, as in any relationship, a little chemistry is really helpful. Trouble is, you can't really tell how it's going to go until you try. So my advice is to meet with more than one tutor and find someone you feel comfortable talking to without feeling intimidated, someone who you feel cares about your progress. If you find that person, then you'll know you've gotten your money's worth.

If you're motivated to learn, I'm motivated to help you. And that's true whether you just need a little help to understand a concept or are struggling through a class. Having spent my share of time as a student, I understand the frustration and confusion of sitting in a demanding math or physics class without completely understanding the material. Some of that is unavoidable (there's evidence that students understand physics concepts LESS well after their first formal physics course!), but a good tutor can really help. Given the background and a reasonable amount of effort, I feel that anyone can learn math and physics. So let's get started!

I tutor students in math for various admissions exams such as the MCAT, GMAT, and GRE. Most of the topics covered by these exams as well as the ACT and SAT are common to all of them. Most students will know these topics. The difference between students who do well and those who don't comes down to familiarity and practice. That's because those things lead to speed and accuracy. I can help you improve in all these areas and thus increase your score.

I'm qualified to tutor algebra because I know the subject. I've tutored students in algebra and other mathematical subjects for several years. I've worked in a drop-in tutoring center and also individually with students of all levels.

I know the kinds of issues students have when learning algebra and I've been successful at helping them improve their skills and be more confident in their abilities. I have a graduate degree in electrical engineering and have also worked as an engineer and participated in a variety of research projects.

I've been helping struggling students to succeed and have been motivating students to excel in calculus and physics courses (where calculus is applied) for several years. I'll adjust to your needs: We can talk about concepts or focus on problem solving. We can go through problems step by step or just sketch an approach and move on. Your questions won't go unanswered. I'll follow up or provide additional resources as needed.

Geometry is important because the ideas you learn here are fundamental. You'll see detailed logic and reasoning used in ways that are basic in mathematics. I have tutored multiple topics in mathematics and worked in a drop-in tutoring environment as well as individual tutoring, so I can help you with any geometry topics you're having trouble with.

I tutor students in math for various college admission exams, including the GMAT. I also tutor various topics in mathematics and physics. For the GMAT, as in most exams, speed is critical, so in addition to the most straightforward solutions, if there's a quicker way to do a problem, I'll point it out. I can help you prepare for the GMAT so that (along with a healthy amount of practice!), you'll be as ready as you can be.

I have successfully tutored students in math for a number of admissions exams, including the GRE. I've also taken the exam myself, so I understand how stressful it can be. For the GRE, speed is critical. The best way to both decrease stress and increase speed is practice. I can help you practice effectively and be as ready as you can be.

I have a graduate degree in electrical engineering. I've tutored introductory physics students for six years. I've also taught physics supplemental instruction courses at the University of Utah. Physics is my favorite subject to study and tutor because it is fundamental to understanding how the world works. I'll adjust to your needs: We can talk about concepts or focus on problem solving. We can go through problems step by step or just sketch an approach and move on. Your questions won't go unanswered. I'll follow up or provide additional resources as needed.

Prealgebra is an important topic because the skills you learn here are taken for granted in math courses that follow. The goal is to know the topics, but also to be confident so you can do the work quickly and accurately. I have tutored multiple topics in mathematics and worked in a drop-in tutoring environment as well as individual tutoring, so I can help you with any topics you're having trouble with.

I have a graduate degree in electrical engineering. I've been helping struggling students succeed and motivated students excel in calculus and physics courses (where calculus is applied) for several years so I'm familiar with all of the topics covered in precalculus courses. I'll adjust to your needs: We can talk about concepts or focus on problem solving. We can go through problems step by step or just sketch an approach and move on. Your questions won't go unanswered.

I tutor students in math for various college admission exams such as the MCAT, GMAT, and GRE. I also tutor in the subjects that these exams focus on (as well as physics, where many of the concepts are applied). For these exams, speed is critical, so in addition to the most straightforward solutions, if there's a quicker way to do a problem, I'll point it out.

I have a graduate degree in electrical engineering and have several years experience tutoring students in math and physics. These are areas where trigonometry concepts come up all the time, so it's essential to be comfortable with the topic. Your questions won't go unanswered.
