My name is Katie, and I have been working at a school in the valley for the last three years. Prior to working as a teacher, I attended a liberal arts university, the University of Dallas, where I received a BA in English Literature. I love to read and to discuss the various themes and ideas presented by pieces of literature. Though I don't have a degree in history, I took many history classes in college and also studied abroad in Rome. Through that experience, I was able to learn history from the source.
Having worked with students from middle school to the college level, I can provide a great scope of assistance in English literature and history. I can help students with writing, both mechanically and with the overall process of forming thoughts into words. I have been teaching American history for three years, both from a text book stance and from primary documents. I hope to instill in my students the same appreciation and love of learning as I have acquired over the years. I enjoy working with my students, and I really love to see them succeed!
