Hi,

I have taught at both the Jr. High and High School levels and have tutored students in reading, math, ESL and GED Preparation. I hold a Bachelor's degree in math, a Master's degree in psychology and I have 30 years of experience in education.

People tell me that I have a way of explaining concepts so that they are easier to understand. I use a lot of visuals while tutoring in math and pull from a variety of sources for reading and English. I pretest skills, so we can focus on needs and make the best use of time.

ESL/ESOL

In the past, I have tutored adults who were trying to learn English as their second language. I have also taught English at the middle school level.

Elementary Math

I was a Jr High and High School Math teacher, and have tutored math at many levels and with student with math disabilities. Students tell me I have a good way of explaining concepts to them and I am very patient.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have been a reading and math tutor for elementary age students and currently work as a School Psychologist in two elementary schools. It is essential that we focus on basic reading and math skills, especially at the first and second grade levels.

Special Needs

I have a certification in School Psychology and work with special needs students as a full time job.

ADD/ADHD

I am a Certified School Psychologist, working with special needs students, including those with ADHD. I have experience as a reading and math tutor and a math and science teacher.

Aspergers

I am a certified School psychologist working with students who are on the Autism Spectrum in grades K-6. Asperger's Disorder is diagnosed when an individual is on the Autism Spectrum, but is considered to be "higher functioning".
