I have been a high school science teacher for fourteen years and have taught at the community college level as an Adjunct Faculty member for the past two years here in the valley. My experience in education includes courses taught in biology, zoology, biochemistry, chemistry, human anatomy and physiology, BIO100 for non-majors, and AP Biology. My undergraduate studies at Arizona State University focused on cell and molecular biology. I have recently decided to continue my education past my master's degree in pursuits of a PhD in biochemistry and molecular cell biology. I have several graduate level courses in biotechnology and molecular biology including genetics and evolutionary biology. I have worked at The Biodesign Institute at Arizona State University in the Biomolecular Physcis lab.
Having over thirteen years in education, I can explain concepts on a level that students can relate. I have been a tutor for other private companies here in the valley and know the benefits for teaching to the individual student. Since my background is enriched with alternative instructional styles and education pedagogy, my knowledge on learning strategies and alternative methodologies of instructional delivery allows me to customize the learning experience to each student's needs. I can create learning strategies that will maximize the student’s opportunities for improvement and success.
