Hello all. I am Andrew and I have my Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Oregon. I currently technical write and edit and am looking to tutor on the side. I have experience tutoring while in high school and college. I have tutored ages 9-17, both male and female. The areas of tutoring that best fit my strengths are in writing, editing, reading, grammar, vocabulary, proof reading, study habits, test taking strategies, note taking strategies, and overall strategies to becoming a better learner.

I am a friendly and easy going guy. I won't be the type of tutor who gets upset or is short on patience. I am willing to take the time to work with my student until they understand the subject at hand, not just until they get the right answer. I am always available to discuss the needs of my students and if there are any concerns or questions, I am more than willing to go over them.

Literature

While taking English courses was fun, it also meant a lot of reading! I have read numerous books by some of the greatest authors like Jane Austin, Charles Dickens, Mary Shelley, and more. I have read literature from time periods such as the middle ages, the Victorian era, current authors, and everything in between.

ACT English

I have extensive experience working with students trying to pass their ACT English test. Most of my students that prepare with me get significantly higher score than those who choose to take the test without any tutoring. English is one of the hardest portions of the test, and I can help you pass with flying colors.

How do I receive a discount?

You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
