I am a highly qualified Social Studies teacher, holding a Secondary Education degree from the University of Wyoming and a teaching license in the state of Wyoming and a substitute teaching certificate in the state of Arizona. I have a deep knowledge of Social Studies content, as attested by my Praxis score of 188, for which I was awarded the ETS Recognition of Excellence. I am able to relate this knowledge to students in creative and unique ways which relate the subject matter to students' lives and encourage independent critical thinking.
I have worked as a substitute teacher in the Campbell County School District of Wyoming (2008) and the Paradise Valley School District (2011). I completed a semester of student teaching at Natrona County High School in 2009 and was rewarded with distinguished marks from my two mentor teachers. During my experience in these various classrooms, I have had experience in curriculum design and development; classroom management, differentiated instruction, student-centered learning, cooperative learning, multicultural awareness, interactive learning, student assessment, development of student critical thinking skills, and grief counseling.
