American History
I began majoring in History and English before I changed to Elementary Ed.
However, my love for History is due to the fact that my family and I have lived and worked in 6 countries, being out of the US for approximately 15 years.
I provide hands on experiences not only in American History, but World History as well.
We are an international family, with adult children living on other continents.
The world is open to all of us. The people, cultures, FOODS, and traditions all have a place in each of us.
I can help, and will be happy to meet as often as necessary.
English
I was an English major before I decided to get my degree in Elementary Ed.
I have diverse ways of tutoring, and have great success with my students. Learning is always fun!
During the past 5 years, I have mostly taught to non English speaking students.
I am familiar with IEP's, Azella testing, as well as the paper work required by the state of Arizona for English Language Learners.
Grammar
I positively LOVE grammar. It is such a fun subject to teach!
When I had my own classroom, I always had my students complete Daily Oral Language first thing in the morning. This got us off to a great day.
I know that grammar is part of the AIMS test in the spring, so not only do I feel it is important for testing, but is a life long process as well.
I bring enthusiasm and a love of teaching to anyone I teach, whether it be twenty students or one on one.
Teaching is my passion! I wake up for this daily.
I look forward to visiting with you in ways to help your child understand grammar.
