I have extensive experience working with the youth at our church as well as coaching youth in volunteer activities. I also have a solid background in math, having received honors upon graduating from high school in 1979. Keeping my skills current with younger people enables me to practice overcoming communication barriers and retain a more open mind regarding their needs. As a father of two, I also enjoy learning how to enable our youth to learn by adapting my teaching techniques, which gives them the confidence to learn independently. Consequently, I have received an Associates of Applied Science Degree, with High Honors, from Cochise College in December, 1996.
I am eager to work with youth from elementary age up to college students. I prefer working with students using their assigned classroom books and literature. This helps to keep terminology consistent with current teaching criteria and minimizes confusion. My preference is also to work with youth in the presence of their parent(s) or designated guardian (older sibling, child care provider, etc.) so that interested parties may evaluate the quality of my instruction and become acquainted with the training process. I strictly prohibit filming, video-taping, picture-taking, or any other form of visual or audio recording of the training sessions (in full or in any part) unless I have granted written consent in advance. The purpose of this ‘personal policy' is to protect proprietary intellectual property (analogies, teaching methods, reproduction, etc.) and to preserve the identity and privacy of students. Parents of minors are always welcome to monitor any instruction activity.
I look forward to helping anyone that I can assist!
Sincerely, Kevin “Chip” A.
