I have a bachelor's degree in music education from Arizona State University (summa cum laude). Upon graduation I was recognized as the "Future Music Educator of the Year" (2012) by the Arizona Music Educators Association, and the "Outstanding Graduate of the Year" (valedictorian) from the Arizona State University Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts. I am a certified teacher in Arizona for PreK-12 music education, and currently teach a rigorous music curriculum at Scottsdale Preparatory Academy (one of the Great Hearts Academies). I am also certified in Kodaly Level I and Orff Level I music education pedagogies, which emphasize building aural (inner ear training) skills in relation to different music concepts. I have experience teaching ear training and dictation skills to hundreds of middle and high school students.

I student taught at Scales Technology Academy, a Title I school in the Tempe Elementary School District, which focuses on integrating technology with learning. I spent the last year as a teacher at Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, a 5-12 grade public charter school in northern Scottsdale. I have tutored students of all ages.

I've completed additional graduate coursework studying choral music repertoire across periods of history.
