Hello, my name is Katie and I am an undergraduate student at Arizona Statue University! I graduated from Xavier College Preparatory high school with a 3.5 GPA and much knowledge to teach others with! Growing up, I have always thrived off of helping other students to understand the material being taught at the time, along with watching others succeed. Learning can be very frustrating and difficult to many, so it is always wonderful to help others be successful. During high school, I always helped my three younger siblings with their homework and loved watching them do well in middle school and watching them grow up being able to understand. In order to tutor students, there is no set rule. Being a tutor is all about accommodating the students' needs and those needs are different for every student. It is the tutor's job to figure out what each student's needs are and to continue forth helping the child with these needs. Also, with being a tutor, is it so important to be kind, loving, caring and patient. If not, the student will not be able to understand the material or be able to learn at all. It is all about the student and the tutor's connection that makes it work! I cannot wait to start tutoring and be able to share my knowledge with others and help students love to learn!

I am experienced in teaching subjects such as middle school math, English, writing, proofreading, study skills, and time management.

Katherine’s subjects

Elementary Math

Math has always been a tricky subject for me, but I have come to terms with helping others with lower level math. I have much experience with elementary math, for I have always helped my younger siblings with their math.

Elementary Science

I have always had a passion for science, for I am studying biological sciences in college! Growing up, science was always my best and favorite subject!

English has always come very easy to me and I am good at explaining it to others.

I am very picky about grammar and I love proofreading other peoples' writings in order to help them do well.

I love reading any form of literature and always like to analyze any forms of reading.

I always proofread my peers' writing and give them extensive advice on how to better their papers!

Growing up, I was always reading a book higher than my grade level. Reading is an important skill that everyone should learn to love. I think that reading makes people smarter.

I have always been so cautious about spelling as I was growing up and I love it.

I write everyday, whether it be for school or not. Writing is such a good tool for people to use not just in school, but for everyday life.
