I recently got my Associates degree from Chandler-Gilbert Community College and have moved on to ASU to pursue a degree in Earth and Space Exploration (which is long and fancy for Geology). I graduated from community college with a 3.94 GPA with classes including multiple history classes, special and bilingual education (which afforded me a valid AZ IVP fingerprint clearance to work with children), precalculus, geology, and basic biology. During my time at ASU I will be taking classes including 3 levels of calculus (starting Fall 2012) and various sciences. I feel more than comfortable tutoring any student in various maths, histories, sciences, and computers, as well as assisting with writing assignments including: brainstorming, drafting, and proofreading.
I personally believe that any student can learn any subject if the desire and drive to learn is there. I will come to tutoring sessions with an excited attitude about the subject matter and I will expect you to have the same (even if you don't like the subject). I was not a very good student in high school (with a 2.7 GPA) and I completely regret not putting more effort into my studies. I will make every effort to get you to relate to the material and hopefully do better than I. Eventually I will expect you to teach me, as the best way to retain information is to explain it to someone else. With that said, I am doing exactly that when I come and tutor, I am reinforcing the learning I have accomplished by passing the information on to you.
