I have been teaching "student success skills" at a community college for the over 16 years. We cover topics such as test-taking, note-taking, time management, goal-setting, problem solving, academic planning, and career exploration. It is my mission to help students achieve their educational goals. I like to help students connect their every day homework assignments with their long term goals. I can provide assistance with Microsoft PowerPoint and Word, and can help students with grammar, spelling, vocabulary, and proofreading of papers.
My educational background includes a bachelor's degree in secondary education, a master's degree in counseling and guidance and a master's degree in Psychology. In addition to the student success skills course, I have taught career exploration, psychology, and interpersonal communication courses. I have been an academic advisor for 18 years and recently completed training to become a Career Development Facilitator. I am an experienced mediator and spent several years volunteering for our local small claims court.
I will work with individuals or small groups and I am only available on Saturdays and Sundays.
I look forward to working with you.
