Hello! Thank you so much for considering me to tutor your child! You should know I am certified to teach kindergarten through eighth grade students and I am highly qualified to teach sixth, seventh, and eighth grade math as well as students learning English for the first time. I have taught middle school students in Phoenix public schools for half a decade. Four of those years I taught math - grades five through eight. One of those years I taught all core subjects (math, English, science, social studies) to seventh & eighth graders. I love working with middle schoolers and look forward to helping prepare your middle schooler for high school!
Moreover, I've spent the last two years teaching virtually and using the five main applications of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) daily. So if you or your child are struggling with technology, or if distance is a challenge and you'd like to meet virtually, I can help with that too!
Additionally, I want you to know that as an undergraduate at ASU, I tutored adults in math and I have taught part-time at NAU for the last year. So I have experience working with adults, if you require assistance yourself.
Finally, I do want to offer you the convenience of online tutoring. If you or your child have easy access to a computer with internet, I'd be happy to meet online to provide tutoring!
So, if math, English, or technology is a challenge for you or your child, please contact me. I look forward to working with you!
I hold a state of Arizona certification in elementary education (k-8) and passed the state tests (AEPA) for both elementary professional knowledge and elementary subject knowledge. I can provide copies of all of this documentation, if needed.
I student taught in a fifth grade classroom, I've taught math to fifth & sixth graders, and I've tutored students as young as six.
For the last two years I have managed and trained our school's database in Microsoft Access. The database is a complex file that stores student contact information, grades, and academic probation history. This data can be entered by one teacher and accessed by all the student's teachers and Administration. I train staff on how to enter and access information as well as how to run reports. I can provide letters of recommendation reflecting my skill in access, if needed.
I use Microsoft Outlook everyday for my "day job." I have used both the full and web versions. Within Outlook, I send and receive emails, use all functions of the calendar (including creating appointments, forwarding appointments, creating meeting invites, categorizing appointments, setting reminders, etc), know how to set and edit task reminders, and have used the notes function. I would feel comfortable tutoring and/or answering questions in all areas of Outlook.
I have used Microsoft Publisher for both personal and professional uses. In fact, I still create holiday and birthday cards in Microsoft Publisher. Last school year, I created the school newsletter in Microsoft Publisher and printed it to a pdf to share with students and parents. I can provide copies of any documents created to show what I can create in Publisher. I am comfortable tutoring and/or answering questions in all aspects of Publisher.
