I like to tailor lessons to students. I have noticed from my past experience that some student learn when the material is explained to them through pictures, some learn by having a conversation, some learn by working out the problem and having someone to correct them, some learn when provided with examples, etc. I feel that it is my job to figure out what type of learner the student is, and speak to them in a way that make sense. I have been tutoring students from third grade to college students for over two years. I have typically tutored in Biology, History, Government, Social Studies, and Pre-Algebra. Occasionally by students need help with other subject and I help them with those as well. For example I have had students who signed up to be tutored in Biology but then needed help with Chemistry and because I was able to help with the Chemistry I went ahead and worked with them on that too. Other times I have students who start out with Biology, and will then go onto Algebra, Physics, Chemistry, History and English, so then I end up helping them with those as well. Currently I am a second year law student, but prior to that I have graduated with Biology and Philosophy degree. And I worked as a researcher for several years. I worked for a hybrid rice company for two years doing mostly DNA extractions and PCR, and DNA analysis. I have also conducted a study on Dinoflagellates. I have worked with human and pig Mitochondria. I also worked as a volunteer docent for a zoo, where I helped out with several elementary school education programs.
