My name is Jennifer B, and I love all things French! I have studied French for 11 years, and I majored in French at the University of Arizona with a Minor in Business. I like to stay abreast of the language by taking courses and by visiting French speaking countries such as France and the Islands of Tahiti. I am a certified diver and must speak French on many of my dives in Polynesia.
I specialize in tutoring children from the ages of 3-10 years old. I have two daughters that are 10 and 12,and I have spent many years working with children. I volunteer in the classrooms often by helping teachers with learning centers in the Core Knowledge Program. I feel that children learn quite quickly if you make the learning process fun! With my strong background in French, it is quite enjoyable for me to tutor children in French...including my own!
I am currently taking a course called French for Travellers. I take courses to stay abreast of new vocabulary, new ways to communicate about modern technology, and to embrace speaking with Francophones. I will be travelling with my professor Linda A., who is also an EXCELLENT tutor with Wyzant. Seven of her students from her class are going to Provence and onto Paris next fall. We will be touring the countryside and enjoying the sites of Paris...and eating beaucoup de croissants!
I am a current member L'Alliance Francaise of Greater Phoenix. This non-profit organization offers many opportunities to meet with other Francophones and Francophiles, attend luncheons, take courses, meet for a French film, etc.
All of my work experience involves working with children from working at a clothing store called Justice for Girls to Jostens, which is a company that sells high school rings and caps/gowns to graduating seniors. I have a strong working knowledge of how to communicate with children of all ages and have a wonderful rapport with them as I enjoy seeing the beam in a child's eyes when something clicks for them.
It would be my pleasure to tutor your child! :)
