I am happy to offer one-on-one tutoring, either in-home or public-location, in Physics, Mathematics, as well as several Humanities subjects. As a teacher in the Great Hearts Academies networks for the past three years, I have taught honors courses in Earth Science, Algebra II, Physics I, and Physics II utilizing inquiry-based curricular models and a Socratic approach to classroom discussion. I am currently a member of the National Science Teachers Association and will be leading a workshop on Teaching Complex Systems at the NSTA Regional Conference in Phoenix in December 2012. My goal as a tutor is three-fold: first, help students master any material they currently struggle with; second, instill in them a passion to always improve, even in the areas that they most struggle with; third, develop students' independent study and review skills. Students who work with me should expect to deeply engage with the material and gain real and permanent knowledge. Please let me know what your needs are and I will be happy to work with you.
