Hello! My name is Katherine H., or "Kathy." I enjoy assisting students in achieving their full academic potential and am ready to embark on the next phase of my educational career! I am "The Commuter Tutor" -- trained and ready to assist your child gain skills in reading, writing, grammar, literacy, and American History at all education levels K-12.
I possess a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University - Hayward, as well as a Master of Science in Teaching, Learning and Leadership with an emphasis in Special Education from Oklahoma State University.
I am a certified by the Arizona Department of Education as a Highly Qualified Teacher, certified in Secondary English 7-12, Cross-Categorical Special Education K-12, and Structured English Immersion Endorsement K-12. I am also certified in the State of Oklahoma in the areas of English, Social Studies and History, and Mild to Moderate Disabilities. My teaching experience includes a boy's group home for foster youth, as well as in private and public school.
I understand the diverse needs of each student, and together we will develop an individualed plan for your child customized with his or her learning style in mind.
