I graduated from the University of Arizona College of Law with a J.D., and I earned a Bachelors in Philosophy from the University of Northern Colorado. I am currently enrolled in the nursing program at ASU for a Bachelors of Science in Nursing.
I have a wide range of interests, which means I tutor all kinds of subjects. I know math (one random non math class away from a B.S. in Math from the University of Arizona) pretty well, and can help with just about any level of student.
I know standardized tests inside and out, especially the LSAT. I also know how to help you get that same level of skill in those tests- they are all puzzles that can be solved with the right tools.
Teaching is a lot of fun to me, and I love the aha! moment when I can help someone figure out a subject or problem that they have struggled with.
In my spare time (what I can find of it) I enjoy cooking, and I make a mean jambalaya. I graduated from the University of Arizona College of Law with a J.D., and I earned a Bachelors in Philosophy from the University of Northern Colorado. I am currently enrolled in the Read more
I can be flexible on rates, especially if we can work out convenient meeting places. (I prefer to meet in downtown/central Phoenix if possible, or around ASU Tempe.)
Working with Kevin was a privilege. From my first lesson with Kevin it quickly became apparent that this tutor is gifted with the special ability to decipher the LSAT and impart that knowledge with patience and clarity.
After searching for an affordable tutor (opting out of paying thousands of dollars for Kaplan or Princeton tutors), I found a qualified tutor Kevin. He helped prepare me for the daunting LSAT, and taught me the fundamental skills needed to do well on the test. I'm very satisfied with the tutoring sessions and feel confident in saying he is a great tutor.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I passed the Arizona Bar in June of 2010 with a score of 473.6.
I scored a 94.7 on the TEAS test in October 2012. I teach/tutor all of the subjects the test covers.
Kevin T. passed a background check on 9/17/12. The check was ordered by another user through First Advantage. For more information, please review the background check information page.
After sending a message to Kevin, you will be able to order a new background check for $7.99. As part of your tutor selection process, we encourage you to run updated background checks. Please also review the safety tips for hiring tutors.
