I have completed my bachelors degree from Arizona State University (ASU) in May, 2011 and I am currently enrolled in the Masters program at ASU. I worked as a grader for a course at ASU during the spring semester in which I helped students with queries regarding the course and I also graded homework, midterms and finals. I am interested in tutoring students because I love to share my knowledge and I think I can be an inspiration for them in pursuing their higher studies.
I have been tutoring my brother in all his math subjects from high school and now in his college math. My strategy towards queries is very simple.
a. First, I will look at the problem
b. Second, I will then ask them if they have understood the section this problem belongs to.
c. If student has understood the section then I would refresh their mind again by going through the key points of the section. If student is confused, then I will go through whole section in detail and then will come to the problem again.
d. Now, I will read the whole problem again with the student and try to highlight the key words in the problem.
e. Now from here I will guide him to solve the problem step-by-step and to give some practice I will go through more problems of similar kind.
