Hello, I am a children's author, published writer and blogger. I specialize in creative and expressive writing as well as sentence structuring. My work can be seen on sites which feature e-books. I have also written for several community newspapers in the past and am pleased to say that my uncle was editor of the Wall Street Journal a number of years ago. Those with writing talent have a way of expressing not only the way they think and feel but to also capture the thoughts and feelings of their readers as well. I've often had readers comment that what I wrote mirrored exactly how they were feeling, but they just didn't know how to express it. One cannot be afraid to reveal themselves in their writing, while at the same time maintaining a measure of personal privacy.
I have enjoyed helping elementary school age children as well as adults learn to read better and to improve their comprehension of what they are reading through proper grammar, pronunciation and sense stress. I have also had limited experience in helping those who have learning disabilities. My experience in this area has been centered around volunteer work. Reading opens up so many worlds to children and adults alike. When one reads well, understanding grows. I find that teaching reading by means of phonetics is the best way for someone to learn. When one just tries to memorize a specific word, it only serves them well if they see that particular word again. But, if one learns how to pronounce words properly using vowels and accents on the right syllables, then they will be able to know how to read any word.
Sincerely,
Robin K.
