I studied French and sociology at Hillsdale College and graduated magna cum laude in May 2011 with honors in both degrees. I've been studying French since I was 6; I have been tutoring students of various ages since I was 15, when I started my own language tutoring business. Since then, I have helped my peers as well as younger students improve their grades and their understanding of English, psychology and foreign languages including French, German, and Spanish.
I love words and the power they have when wielded skillfully. When I was growing up, I wanted to be a published author; as I got older, I continued to refine my reading and writing skills.
I have a passion for linguistics. I went to French-speaking Africa in college to pursue my interests in culture and language and completed my senior thesis with honors. I believe that having an excellent command of language is important to a fulfilling life. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to show my students how language can be both fun and relevant to everyday life, and learn how to improve their skills in these areas.
I'm currently a French interpreter with an international translation company. In my free time, I love to read good books, write stories, play volleyball, travel the world, and eat delicious food!
