I enjoy working with students of all levels! I have excellent generalist skills, from English writing/grammar/spelling to Math (I hold an M.B.A. in finance) but my absolute favorite is working with the younger grades before they have been 'turned off' to Math of all kinds; I love Algebra! My undergraduate degree is in French and I can teach you from scratch/help you learn and develop good study habits/prepare you for exams/help with literature studies/develop conversational ability.
I was a Certified Educator in NH and VT for 6 years; endorsements in French and German; levels K-12.
I have lived in France and traveled throughout Germany. I speak French as easily as I speak English. I use many teaching methods and am results oriented. We discuss what it is you wish to accomplish, and I tell you if I can get you there.
Outside of the classroom, I have tutored in school settings or privately, taught night school classes, and volunteered my services helping refugee resettlements. I have tutored both children and adults.
I tutored an eleven-year-old Iraqi boy who had immigrated to the U.S. from Jordan. He was learning French there and his mother did not want him to "lose" or forget it because our U.S. system starts language study in the higher grades. Another recent student was a Consultant and VP who travels extensively. She learned French and was able to respond in French to a blog posting she received. She is better able to understand her peers, even when the meetings are conducted in English, because she understands the phonetics of French.
Can I help you?
