Adobe Illustrator

I am a professional illustrator that has worked in a studio setting using adobe Illustrator as my primary tool for converting my drawing to vector and coloring them. I was able to teach other colleagues how to use the program who were having trouble with it, and I was able make finished illustrations using Adobe Illustrator. I have also learned how to use Illustrator and Photoshop together, and know many of the strengths and weaknesses of using either of these two programs.

Adobe Photoshop

Though I have taken some formal classes while studying at The Ringling School of Art and Design, my primary experience has come from working for several years as an Illustrator both as an in-house hired artist and as a freelancer. While my use of the program is specific to illustration, I do have a fairly good grasp of the program, albeit not an exhaustive one.

Drawing

I have been drawing for several years now as a professional illustrator, and graduated from the Ringling School of Art and Design, where effective drawing was considered one of the most important disciplines in my major. I am skilled in drawing people, characters, cartoons, environments, and perspective drawings, and I have been taught how to make effective and appealing compositions.

It would be a pleasure to teach others what I have learned, and encourage you along the way, to help them reach their goal of drawing what you want to draw by learning the fundamental disciplines of drawing shape, depth, perspective, tone and light. All of these fundamentals are crucial to effectively drawing the things a person WANTS to draw.

Approved Subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet certified in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
