I am currently attending college at Arizona State to obtain my degree in Spanish: Literature and Culture and then I plan to pursue my masters in Education. I am maintaining a 3.0 GPA. I have had the experience of home schooling my own daughter for almost 4 yrs who happens to have learning difficulties (GRADES 5-9). She has ADD and Dyslexia:a language based learning problem. I have worked in a Montesorri preschool for a year and assisted the pre-K and kindergarten classes with private reading sessions to help with phonics. I have also performed habilitation services and respite for a child with Asperger's for a year. I was the camp coordinator for a youth day camp (7 years) which was catered to students grades k-6 at a local ice rink where I also teach skating classes. I am patient, have a lot of enthusiasm, organized and open-minded in my approach to teaching others as each learner is unique and I find that sometimes a standardized way of teaching is not for everyone. I am proficient in basic math through Algebra 1, American History, English, Reading, high school Spanish, Basic Portuguese,Intro to Psychology, Basic Biology, Marine Biology, and any general classes pre-K through to 12th grade level. I am also great at teaching study and organization skills.
On a personal note, I have been with my husband for 17 years (married for 11). My daughter is now in college to be a preschool teacher and she also teaches ice skating. We have two dogs. Kovu is our male black labrador mix and Kiara is our female golden retreiver mix. Both are rescues. We, also, have two red eared sliders named Mike and Ike. They are still small but we think maybe Mike is a girl. For fun, I sing, cook, sew, ride my bike, skate, read, write poetry and enjoy my time with my family.
