As an educator and leader, I have over 30 years of leadership, education, and research experience in K-12, undergraduate, graduate university, and government programs. My experience and competencies include traditional and distance learning programs, curriculum development, and working with students from diverse backgrounds and skill levels, including international students studying in the United States.
My K-12 focus areas include Social Studies and working with Special Education students, but I am also adept at Mathematics (through Algebra I) and basic science (I taught Elementary Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth Science). I believe in leading students to learn how to learn rather than just helping them problem by problem. Understanding how learning takes place in each student opens up a world of possibilities for each student, regardless of beginning skill level. One-on-one tutoring allows determination of what strategies may help each individual student achieve their potential.
