I am currently attending Mesa Community College. I'm majoring in Elementary Education. I am very good at working with children. I used to babysit occasionally growing up, and when I was older I would watch my friends children from time to time. I was also a member of the "Big Brothers" group. As you can tell from my major choice, teaching and helping children is very important to me because they all deserve a great education and a great life from someone who truly wants to see them succeed ... and kids always seem to like me. I have references from my interactions with children as well; it seems like everyone always says, "You're gonna be a great dad", and I can't wait to have children of my own. I am a volunteer at Banner Desert Medical Center also, so you can tell I really enjoy helping people.

I have tested into Honors English, and out of Reading, which means that I don't have to take any reading classes because my reading comprehension is college level. I have also tested into intermediate algebra. I prefer to tutor in English and Reading, and teach sports. I have helped some with tutoring over the years, but never professionally. I don't drive so would meet you at a local library, Dobson Ranch Library in Mesa, or another if convenient. A quiet coffee shop or cafe would work as well, if you know of one between our locations. We could also meet at your home if it's close enough to where I am. I am also open to online tutoring, if we could work something out. I look forward to hearing from you.

Vocabulary

I've always been very good with words. Even as a young child I had a very high reading and vocabulary level. I can teach middle school and younger different types and meanings of words.

Grammar

In school, my best subject was always English. I am currently attending Mesa Community College and I am in honors level English classes. I can teach kids how to sound out words and understand the basics of grammar to understand which types of words to use, and when. Out of three papers I wrote in my English Comp class last semester, I had a total of five grammatical errors.

General Computer

I have been into computers since age 12, about 15 years, ever since my family got our first computer. I have taken computer classes in high school, but have mostly taught myself over the years. I considered getting my Microsoft Certification until I decided to do something else with my life. I can help teach basic Windows usage, word processing, typing skills, and a few other things.

Prealgebra

I was always very good in math growing up, always being in the highest math classes available. I started algebra in 6th grade. I tested into college algebra for when I start school at MCC. I believe I can teach anyone to understand the basics of math, up to solving equations.

Reading

I've always had a high level of reading comprehension. When I was 5, I tested to a high school level. After taking my entrance test for Mesa Community College, I tested out of reading, meaning I don't have to take any reading classes because my reading comprehension is at or above college level. I have tutored in reading, recently, with much success.

Writing

I am currently attending Mesa Community College and I am in honors level English classes. I've always had a very good understanding of the English language, all aspects of it. I can help anyone learn the basics all the way up to high school level grammar, vocabulary and writing. I wrote 3 papers for English this last semester and got 95%, 100%, and 96%.

Swimming

I was in the advanced swimming classes with 14 and 15 year olds when I was 5 years old. I was on the swim team for a couple years when I was 8 and 9 and was one of the best swimmers in the state in my age level at that time. I can teach anyone the basics and proper form of all the strokes.

Golf

I have played golf since I was 8 years old, for almost 20 years. I am about a 10 handicap. I can teach most anyone the basics to start and help them get better, adjusting things in their swings and setup that will help them.

Baseball

I played baseball for about 15 years growing up. I was a pitcher, and 3rd baseman. I was always one of the best players in our local league. I can teach anyone things needed to improve them, whether it's fielding, hitting, or throwing.

Poker

I have been playing poker for about 10 years. I have never played professionally, but I used to go to the casinos and play in the cash games and do fairly well when I lived in MI. I can help with the basics.
