I tutor English and anything related to English. I currently have a MS in library and information science and a BA in English (Linguistics), so I love anything to do with reading and the English language. I have taught high school and junior high English as well as been an elementary school library media specialist.

As much as I love to read, I have a passion for writing and that passion shows when I help others. Many of my teachers have told me I have a knack for writing and teaching others how to write well. When I was an undergrad, I tutored writing during my four years at ASU and loved it. During that time, I provided one-on-one and group tutoring in writing skills. I am also very familiar with MLA, APA, and Chicago writing styles. My students as well as many professors gave me positive reviews.

Able to help students come up with strategies to help them remember vocabulary. I am also able to help them use context clues to understand the meanings of words within a sentence.

Majored in linguistics, familiar with grammar rules as well as diagramming sentences. I have also taken modern grammar.

Writing

Experience with tutoring high school and college level writing. Proficient in MLA, APA, and Chicago styles. I am great at helping students understand various writing strategies, such as sentence structure, organization, and paragraph structure when it comes to academic papers, as well as creative writing and poetry.

I not only attended a school that was very phonics based and utilized Spalding, but I have a degree in linguistics, which required that I take several classes on phonology and morphology.
