As a long time professional photographer with numerous tear sheets, I am familiar with both film and digital photography. I teach "How to Photography" and "Business Photography" classes for the Maricopa County Community Colleges system.

I can offer instruction from people to architecture to landscape and complete studio set-ups for anything from table tops to motor vehicles.

In the digital world enhancements, it's Adobe Photoshop which I can also instruct in CS 4 CS 5.5 and CS 6. In addition, Photoshop Elements 9, 10, and 11 along with Lightroom 3 and 4.

Therefore, I can teach you from obtaining an image to "what" it should look like for your enjoyment or a magazine.

My mathematics background will help you to understand how applications work. I have been trained in recognizing the many learning styles and use methods for students to learn. In addition, I use proven methods that I adapt to each student as an individual.

Looking forward to helping you learn!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math

The questions that you will need to answer on the ACT Math Test are relatively straightforward and cover topics that you would normally find a typical high school math class.

Geometry questions account for a greater percentage of the ACT Math Test than do any other type of question and I am also certified in Geometry.

Adobe Photoshop

I have taken Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Advance Photoshop in the Maricopa County Community College system. In addition, HTML and CSS are required to teach Photoshop at the college.

Post processing is required for Professional Photographers. Adobe Photoshop is industry standard, my choice for post processing, and a necessity to maintain quality control.

Algebra 1

I tutor mathematics at the community colleges and enjoy the process of helping students achieve their maximum potential.

Algebra 2

I tutor mathematics at the community colleges and enjoy the process of helping students achieve their maximum potential.

Calculus

I had the most fun when I finally arrived in Calc II. I then could use all the mathematics that I had learned throughout the years. Calc III is even better since it uses the z axis.

Geometry

Geometry is interesting. It deals with questions of shape, size, relative position of the shapes, and the properties of space.

Golf

I played golf as a touring professional. I qualified for the senior tour a few years ago. Prior to that, I played on the Cadillac Tour, The Hooters Tour, and The Pepsi Tour, to name a few. I caddied for the USGA in the United States Junior Amateur and the LPGA Tour.
I have instructed students from beginners to seasoned touring professionals.

Photography

I have more than 30 years experience as a professional photographer. Most of the years were spent as a commercial photographer dealing with people with products. I was a former member of the Profe3ssional Photographers Association of America and the PPA of Rhode Island. In addition, I was a former member of the Magazine Photographers Association and I have had numerous rewards from the Professional Photographer Association of America. The number of classes I have taken range from simple lighting techniques, table tops, reflective objects, portraiture, weddings, female models, male models, studio lighting techniques, professional make-up, fashion designing, composition, color pallets, fine art, etc.

Statistics

This seems like a boring subject but if you consider a project that coincides with something that you are passionate about, the learning is fun and informative.

Trigonometry

I tutor mathematics at the community colleges, trigonometry is the most fun subject because of the number of ways to solve each problem.
